A Letter from Our President

Thank you so much for your interest in learning about our Foundation!

Our Foundation was founded in 2009 in response to a need of supporting Jefferson Healthcare’s Hospice Program sharing a goal of enhancing the experiences of the hospice patient and their family. We are a not-for-profit entity, separate from the hospice program. Our goal is to raise funds for the end-of-life services that often are not covered by medical insurance plans. Those services are:

  • Personal Supplies such as linens and briefs to patients in need
  • Comfort Therapy visits geared to reducing anxiety and assisting in managing symptoms (i.e., massage and/or music therapies)
  • Community Bereavement Groups to assist family members with processing their feelings of grief
  • Community Memorial Services to honor those who have died

Last year, 2020, was a challenging year for all. Yet, our Foundation Board remained steadfast in our Mission to ensure previous levels of support for hospice services. We face 2021 with optimism buoyed by thoughtful approaches to any in-person fundraising efforts making sure they will be aligned with current community safety protocols. To that end, we have chosen to postpone our annual breakfast event scheduled for June and re-schedule it to June, 2022.

Off the success of our inaugural virtual event this past February, we are currently planning additional virtual opportunities for expanded community education and fundraising geared toward increasing awareness and value of hospice services. I encourage you to stay tuned and connected to our website for further details.

I’m very pleased to share that our Foundation’s Board remains all-volunteer and is comprised of talented individuals from all walks of life united by their commitment to our Mission.

Won’t you join our cause via donation, volunteering, or board membership?

I hope you will seriously consider.
